UST Traiectum – Student Table Tennis in Utrecht
UST Traiectum is the student table tennis association of Utrecht. Founded in 2011, we bring together students who want to play, compete, and socialize around the table. With weekly training at Olympos, multiple competition teams, and an active social calendar, we offer the perfect balance of sport and student life. Whether you’ve never held a bat or you’re chasing rankings, you’ll find your place here.

Affordable and Accessible
For just €25 per healf-year (plus OlymPas), you get weekly training, competition opportunities, and access to all club activities. No expensive gear required—we have loaner bats for beginners.
Flexible Schedule
Training runs every Friday evening from 19:15 to 22:15, working around your lectures. Plus free play sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when you need extra table time.

With approximately 40 active members, UST Traiectum feels like a tight-knit group, not an anonymous gym. Friday post-training drinks at the Olympos bar are a tradition, and monthly activities like laser gaming, bowling, and our annual members weekend keep the social calendar full.

Every Friday at the Marius Buiting Hall in the Sport Centre Olympos:
19:15 – 22:15 (two 1.5-hour time slots)
What to Bring
- Indoor sports shoes (non-marking soles required)
- Comfortable sportswear
- Water bottle
- Your own bat (or borrow one of ours for trial sessions)

Competition Teams

UST Traiectum currently fields 3 teams in the NTTB regional competition system, playing in classes ranging from 3rd to 6th class. Our teams compete in DUO format, with home matches played Tuesday night at SVE.
Current Season Overview:
- Team 1: 3rd class
- Team 2: 5th class
- Team 3: 6th class
New competition players can register in November (for spring season) or June (for fall season). Competition fees are €31 per half-year season.
How to Join in 3 Steps
1. Show Up for Trial Training
Let us know you will come by at ust.traiectum@gmail.com, come to the Marius Buiting Hall any Friday at 19:15. Play for free, meet the members, and see if the vibe suits you.
2. Purchase Your OlymPas
All members need an OlymPas, available at the OlymPos reception or online. This gives you access to all university sports facilities.
3. Register with our club
Complete the online registration form and link UST Traiectum to your OlymPas. You’re in!
Frequently Asked Questions about student table tennis
Do I need experience to join?
Not at all. Half our members started as complete beginners. Training accommodates all levels simultaneously, from first-timers to competitive players.
How competitive is the club?
We span the full spectrum. Some members play purely for fun and Friday drinks; others compete in regional leagues up to 3rd class. You set your own intensity.
What if I miss training sometimes?
No problem. Many members have busy study periods. The consistent Friday schedule makes it easy to attend when you can.
Do I need to buy equipment?
We have loaner bats for trial sessions. If you continue, a basic bat costs €30–€50—we’re happy to advise on what suits your style.
What social activities do you organize?
Beyond weekly post-training drinks, we run monthly activities (laser tag, bowling, pool), an annual tournament, club championships, and a legendary members weekend trip each year.
What if I have a concern I do not want to discuss with the board?
